Working with Eden Housing we developed an ambitious vision to keep and renovate 57 of 94 existing units while adding 128 new affordable units. This effectively doubled the overall density.  The master plan is a balanced composition that preserves the central four existing apartment buildings, while adding two new buildings. The new larger 5-story podium buildings are located at each end of the triangular property. Resident amenities include three separate laundry rooms, a basketball court, a swimming pool, bike clinic/storage, two children’s play structures, and a community room adjacent to the property management offices. The two new buildings have a long street frontage parallel to the 101-Freeway and acoustic considerations were paramount to mitigate ambient sound.
